Body & Leg Extensions are Individual Breed-swappable Traits
(This knowledge brought to you by Reflet's Genepoolz)
How Scales (the [Default Scales] section in a pet or breed lnz) and Extensions ([Body Extensions] and [Leg Extensions]) inherited in mixies was one of the big petz mysteries for me. It turns out they are individual traits which can each be selectively bred, by mutation, onto other breeds even if no visible breed traits remain present. This means, for example, you can breed a Dane mix to have only the short leg extensions of a Dachshund, even though it still has Dane legs. Or you can strengthen your "Pure" mixie lines by aiming for only the original breed's extensions!
Default Scales work the same way: it's completely possible to split the small scales size of a Chinchilla Persian onto another breed mix, without keeping any other Chinchilla Persian traits. This is how you make "minis" :)
[Default Scales], [Body Extensions] & [Leg Extensions] Reference
Want to know which breeds your mixie pet's finer traits have descended from? Here are all of the unhexed original breeds' Scales and Extension numbers (as they show in Genepoolz)
Note: Some of these numbers aren't exactly what you'll see if you open the breed in LnzPro. The Default Scales and Leg Extensions sections have two numbers each - and they are sometimes two different numbers. In bred petz, however, those two numbers become a single number, and this sort-of-averaged number seems to be what GenePoolz shows.
When a breed shows more than one number in these lists (# or # or #), that means it has multiple variations for that trait!
